Keyword Research is the foundation for all good search engine optimized web pages. Each page title, description and copy  must have its own keyword set in the proper quantity .

The search engines have what is called in the trade the sweet spot. This is the area where the search engines like your title, description and keyword rich copy to fall so that it will get the optimal attention and count by the search algorithm.

We use both software and manual keyword research tools. This is just old fashion research. Depending on whether you are after a local or national marketplace will determine the research direction.
We must determine what words customers in your market place are searching to find your products or services. Local keyword research takes a little bit different slant but the fundamentals are the same.

We can then determine which of these keywords we wish to target. The keyword research will show what words are searched and how many times they are searched each month. When a keyword has lower search volume it is easier to dominate that market. When keywords have large search volume it becomes much more competitive. It is usually best to target the entire spectrum and over the lang haul you can actually target every important keyword in your business field and rank well for all of them.

Without keyword research it is almost impossible to rank web sites and their pages successfully. Many small businesses have good to great looking web sites which are well designed to look good but fail to have the proper titles, descriptions and most important well balanced keyword rich content that will have the search engines willingly rank your sites well.

Lastly you also need to do competitive keyword research to see what your competitors are doing and how they are doing it. We can determine before starting what it will take to rank on the first page of Google and Bing/Yahoo. This is not as difficult as it may sound or that you have heard that it is. There is no magic, just persistent hard work over time.
